I finally have a few hours free. Imagine, my whole body aches. I'm getting older and starting to feel the affects of standing behind the chair all day. It's the walking around the city as well. I'm from suburbia where you get in the car and go to all your destinations, this walking five blocks to get to the train, then transferring to another train, then walk another mile all underground is killing me. Great exercise and I don't need a gym membership doing this on a daily bases, but.... Ooh god, it's just exhausting!!!
I'm not in the city at this moment. I'm at my home in PA. I also work at a salon two days a week here in ALLENTOWN. Yes, I work seven days a week!! My clients here, I have been doing most of their hair for years, some have been with me since I got out of beauty school twenty-seven years ago.
They are very different than my city clients, more reserved, quiet, let me take the lead. When I am here I'm in-charge of my chair. When I'm in New York I have too many people in charge of my chair. I'm am the stylist, I'm the one with the education, I know how to do this. Like I. said before, if you have NEVER stood behind this chair you simply don't get this!! Even if you think you do. I've even owned a salon and there's still no respect.
This younger generation I don't think respect is even in their vocabulary ???
I got my ass reamed out the other day about me not knowing anything about our product lines. Really?!! Really??!! I've been in and out of product class too many times, all our salon products are beneficial. Way better than that over the counter shit!! Every stylist has favorite products that we like and get attach to. Then they go and discontinue it and we throw a fit!!
I want to come to the salon and be relax standing behind the chair. Not under pressure over numbers!!! If I wanted to work with numbers I would've gone to NYU to be an accountant!!
QUESS what?!! That wasn't ever gonna happen!! I EFFN suck at MATH!!!
Ciao
