Breaking the Base
Breaking the base is soo old school. It use to be such a "New York" thing to do, as I was told by an older NYC hairstylist. Our classic shades were always a 1-10 scale and as we traveled from dark to extreme light we needed to do this. Never taking into consideration the porosity or texture of the hair. "New school" we take everything into consideration.
