As a hairdresser during the coarse of a day I can service up to 20 clients. Now, lets think about what "US" hairdresser's REALLY do......

  For those of you who seem to have no "connection" with your own stylist.

   We are like a psychologist, we may not have the "prestigious" degree (not yet)

But lets think about this.....

Every client I service has a different personality, which makes us in this industry having to be chameleons. Adjusting our personalities to fit with each 

And every different personality during the coarse of a day. In what other industry do I ask you that they have to do this????  

   Now, write  us hairdressers more letters about giving advice??? 

   Most everyone of you who are sitting in our chairs have divulged  your most intimate secrets, which we respect and keep. 

   20 some yrs ago when I was first out of   beauty school I had a client sitting in my chair telling me about her boyfriend, this was a client I had NEVER met before but a regular to the salon. 20 yrs ago none of us had cell phones, ok, maybe it was 30 yrs.(sometime in the 80's!) while I was doing her hair she was telling me alllll

About her boyfriend. Next thing I know our receptionist comes over and says, Rachel, (I really don't even remember her name) your husbands on the phone. 

  This would be my first encounter into the world of "Hairdresser psychology"

Sort of like the theory, " What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" well what we discuss behind our chairs stays at the shampoo bowl I suppose. LOL 

   Now, please don't send me anymore emails that I'm not a psychologist. Because your OWN hairdresser is going to freak out!! Yes, we might not have degrees in psychology and we do render our "opinions" when asked but for the most part we stand behind our  chairs not because of the money hell I would have been gone long ago! But we stand behind the dang chair because its our passion! Our passion, we have a vision, we have a talent, we are Artists and our lives circle around what's in our hearts, we're creative beings you can't lock us up in an old stuffy office or cubicle all day 

   There's sooo much more to us. We are not dumb, some of us EVEN have college degrees, but this is what we choose to do. 

STANDING BEHIND THAT CHAIR 7 DAYS A WEEK MAKES OUR LIVES VERY HAPPY AND FULFILLED!!!
