We don't have to leave the city 

Without feeling we have left the country

She's sooo international

We love our Dominican restaurants

And the charming Dominican girls

That always greet us sooo warmly

With " hello mommy"

I love New York because

We exist all together here

Every cultural

Every country

We are all here working together, living, existing

But separately we are killing each other

I just love the food

Of the hair, fashion, makeup

We are all free to express

Who we want to be 

I love New York because

When the subway comes flying

Into the station at record speeds

And blows your hair 

And the cool breeze hits you

I love New York because

They film tv shows & movies

And us locals just walk right on by

Not giving it a second thought

Who cares that we just shuved

Tom Cruise off the sidewalk

We need to get to work

I love New York because

We are all out on the streets

Or in the parks 

I love New York because

There's an endless supply 

Of things to do

I love New York because

We are all too busy working

Or doing something we don't watch tv

OMG!! You suburbanites would die!!

I love New York because 

We know exactly what we want 

Out of life & our careers

But can't decide where to eat dinner

I love New York because 

I love pizza

It's everywhere here 

Time square has that .99€ deal

I love New York because

She was there when the person that

I loved let me down 

And even when that is long & forgotten

And my heart has healed

She will still be there for me 

I love New York because

She energizes me, gives me hope

Fills my heart with happiness

And entertains me

And even though

On those horrible

Rainy days

And cold winter nites 

When I'm cursing her for good

I STILL LOVE NEW YORK
